A decade afterGoogle Glass, Google is getting back to testing smart glasses in public again. The glasses will not, however, be able to take photos or videos. The glasses, based on glimpses Google has shown in videos and photos, look nearly normal. Google hasn’t revealed where in the US, specifically, these glasses will be tested. Google is launching a pilot program this week to test political campaign emails bypassing the Gmail spam filters. The test program isn’t final for all Gmail users or all political campaigns. “We will continue to listen and respond to feedback as the pilot progresses.”

Google also announceda lawsuittargeting the botnet’s alleged operators. Abotnetgenerally refers to a web link of computers that’s taken over and controlled remotely by cyberciminals. The botnet is called Glupteba, and it has infected Windows machines around the world. Google detailed its steps against the Glupteba botnet in aseparate post. However, Glupteba’s operators are using the bitcoin blockchain as a backup mechanism for the botnet. That means it’s more difficult to get rid of the botnet for good....

The company also pointed to other ways that it’s promoting andcelebrating Black History MonthandLunar New Year. Timeanddate’s website includes customized calendars that can include holidays only, holidays and observances, and other options.

The feature is gradually rolling out, so you might not see it right away. Google didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
