Brooklyn-based artist Richard A.

Chance created the memorial Doodle.

The role King played in promoting racial equality earned him the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.

He was assassinated in 1968 and posthumously received the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal.
