This Video of the Sun Shows an Earth-Size Eruption

Last month’stotal solar eclipseisn’t your only chance to take a peep at the sun this year.

“Small” is relative, as the ESA notes that the eruption was larger than Earth.

The 22-second mark shows the eruption.

These spires can reach heights of 10,000 kilometers, or approximately 6,200 miles.

In short, rain showers on the sun are insane.
